a good read

I finally finished Breaking Dawn last night at midnight. Yes, midnight, Melanie. You know, I had high hopes zipping through the book, but that just didn't happen this time. And that's ok with me (now that I am done!).

I am totally happy with the whole story. It was a huge book, so a ton of interesting stuff happened, and it wrapped up nicely. There could be so many spin off series (which I am sure she will pursue at some point) because even though it ended, it never really ends. She could write so much more about any one of those characters. For now I am happy with Bella and Edward.

The whole midnight release party was a joke. Good thing Mariana and Melanie were there to liven things up and make it worth while to stay up that late. Instead of hanging out with all the preteens at Borders with employees who were more like babysitters than party throwers, we had a blast chatting and gorging on appetizers at Me N Eds. Oh, and chocolate from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. It was so hard not to fall asleep at such a late hour with a stuffed tummy.

Here's a picture of the two old moms waiting with the girls for their books:

What a bunch of dorks! :)

What did ya'll think of the "final" book?

So tell us all- did you end up changing the shirt after you saw all the little girls there? I was bummed to find the book in the young adults section- it should have been in display in the front of the store with the other worthwhile books!
