thinking thoughts

"We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day."

*****

"If you have determined to live righteously, don't become discouraged. Life may seem difficult now, but hold on tightly to that iron rod of truth. You are making better progress than you realize. Your struggles are defining character, discipline, and confidence in the promises of your Father in Heaven and the Savior as you consistently obey their commandments."

Both quotes from Elder Richard G. Scott's General Conference address titled "The Transforming Power of Faith and Character"; Ensign, November 2010

*****

This year I am trying to keep the words of the prophet and apostles on my mind in between conference. I'm thinking that each Thursday I'll post a quote (or two) that really got me thinking during my reading. See? I'm thinking thoughts... and I thought you might like to think them too.

I love that talk, it is very deep. I have read it several times this month and I have still had it on my mind. Thanks for posting those quotes. good reminders for all of us in all our trials.

It seems that each year I come to appreciate not just General Conference more, but also those General Conference issues of the Ensign more. It seems whenever there is something that is a challenge in your life, you can find encouraging words in many of the talks from the most recent Conference. Thanks for the post.
