I remember when I was younger and forced to stay in my room until it was clean. At various times during the day my parents would check on me (probably to make sure I hadn't been buried alive or fallen into a black whole) and inevitably the place would look worse than it did when I started.
"It has to get worse before it gets better," I remember saying.
After a deep sigh, they would close the door and leave me to my work. They were very patient with me. Most of the time.
Anyway, I was reminded of this mantra today. I worked for a long time last night going through boxes purging and tossing, and then I had enough. Time to hit the sack. Today I walked back in to start again while Tyler was napping, and felt a little defeated.
My bedroom looks worse than it did when I started.
I had to tell myself "it's gotta look worse to get better, Audrey." So here we are.
Take a deep breath, and get back to work.
I feel good, like things are actually getting done. I have a handle on how (at least for now) things will be organized in my "new" space, and I'm plain giddy about it. Tools are being organized and put back in the room. There are lots of empty boxes too. Gotta love that.
So far all of my alpha stamps fit into one box on the shelf. That will be so easy for me to reach in and grab.
I can't wait to get scrapin.
I bet you can't either. All of this talk about organizing scrap stuff can get pretty dry, huh? I know Steve's thinking, "get over it already!"

i wanna come play. i know anything scrapbooking, even organizing gets me excited. crazy. m
I did the same thing this week. Went through and reorganized, moved things to another room to make room for a girl in my house. (Still too bizarre and foreign to seem real!) Any good ideas on how to organize all the pictures I still haven't scrapbooked? They are in boxes, pretty bad, huh. And I still haven't made my cards for the next exchange. Oh, well, a little at a time! Keep at it. In my experience it is always worse before it gets better!
