overcast and cool

has been the beautiful weather around here lately. It even rained off and on all weekend. It has been absolutely wonderful! I was just thinking how much I love the dark clouds and mild weather with a gentle breeze blowing...to say the least, it has been very comfortable here this past weekend; a lot better than the 100 plus degree weather we're used too!

Yesterday Steve did some work, so the girls and I went to Storyland/Playland with Grandma (Grandpa joined us after his round of golf). Storyland was a lot of fun. Lots and lots of opportunities to take cool pictures. I was thinking to myself that Tara would have a hay day in this place. I so wish I had her talents (and her camera) but life through my eyes (and my point and shoot) will have to do. Here are some that I thought were cute:








We had a blast at Playland (mini amusement park). I was shocked when Isabel was the one wanting to go on all the rides and Katie was the one hanging back. Isabel had a great time with Aunt Cassie on the Ferris Wheel; they went on it four times! I'd share pictures from there, but my camera's battery died. Grandma has all the fun ride pictures. Can't wait to see those.


On a totally different note, Steve's birthday is Friday. I'm excited, but have no clue what to do...any ideas? He's really hard to buy for but is so good at buying for me. I know I couldn't loose with one of these

or these

but that just ain't happenin' this year. Any help coming up with something a little less expensive would be much appreciated.
