perfection

We had a ton of fun on the fourth.

Started off the day (for the third year in a row) at the ward's pancake breakfast. Good food, lots of ward family, MoTab singing some patriotic songs over the PA system in the park, completed with the primary parade.

Did I mention snow cones at 9:30 in the morning? Nice.

From there we hustled home, dumped the bikes for towels and an ice chest, and were off the find a spot amongst the masses at Bass Lake. We got lucky.

The kids seriously loved playing in the sand and water. I've gotta teach them how to swim so they can have even more fun when we go to stuff like this.

I was worried that I didn't bring along any other activities to do while we were there, but realized that this time it was ok. We as parents sat back and let them explore and play and enjoy the new environment on their own schedule. It paid off- they loved every minute of it. It wasn't so bad for us either!

As we sat together on a towel watching the fireworks being shot off from the middle of the lake I couldn't help but think about how blessed my life is. Total contentment, joy. Perfection.
