Oh, it was so nice to get away. My parents are the best for taking the kids for two days. I wish it could have been longer, but Steve is so busy with work he is already gone again. Will it ever get easier when he leaves?

Anyway, we went to the coast. First we stopped off in Gilroy to hit the outlets. It was so much fun hanging out together. We then headed over to our hotel. You can tell it was older, but with recent renovations. Our suite was awesome. It had a tiled fireplace with a huge flat screen TV above it, a jacuzzi tub in the corner of the room, and a nice bathroom. I was very impressed with Steve. He did such a good job making all the arrangements.
So we had enough time to drop our stuff, then we headed over to check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We had about 30 minutes to run through and get a good feel for what it is like now. We think the kids will absolutely love it. We thought it was really cool. Next time we go back, that is at the top of the list of things to do.
We cruised Cannery Row for a little before dinner at Roy's. Talk about to die for food. The dessert was so delicious there just aren't words that do it justice. It was a chocolate molten cake with chocolate and raspberry sauce, with a scoop of vanilla/raspberry ice cream on the side. Steve and I shared one, but I could have easily eaten two all by myself. Yum.
The next morning we hit a little french bakery for ham and cheese croissants before Steve's tee time at Spanish Bay. I dropped him off and treated myself to some more shopping all by myself. It was heavenly.
We finished off the trip with dinner at Bubba Gump, which was really yummy too.
Back to reality.
Kids asking if it's time to eat yet, laundry to finish, school to get ready for.
I'm ready for it though. Bring it on, life! I'm refreshed and relaxed. Life is good.
Here's day 7
and day 8
(I know I already posted this lo, but I put some finishing touches on it last night and framed it. It's going on the wall in the scrap room.)

So glad you got a well deserved break. I had to drop off my kids at Grandma's yesterday and Ellie was crying because she only wanted to go to "Audrey Foster's". I guess she likes you (it probably has something to do with your cute girls).
What a great trip! I SO miss being able to easily get away to the coast! How nice to get a break! Hey, congrats on the section date, yay to KNOW--May will be here SO SOON!! That's exciting! And I'm just loving all your layouts. It's so fun to see your creativity!
