Sometimes you just need a breather...Friday night Steve suggested we skip town Saturday. Lots of reasons why, the top two being the kids have never been to the beach before and the temperature has been hovering in the low 100's. So we headed to Monterey Saturday morning. Big surprise for the girls! They were so excited!
We went to Fisherman's Wharf,
played on the beach,
had a picnic
strolled cannery row,
looked for sea shells,
and took the 17 Mile Drive (a road that winds through Spanish Bay, Spyglass Hill, Poppy Hills, and Pebble Beach Golf Courses). I think we found something new to dream about. There were huge homes intertwined, absolutely beautiful to look at. I had fun imagining what it would be like to have a summer home across the street from Pebble Beach!
The views were amazing, the weather so cool. When we first got there I was chilly-complained that I forgot a light sweater for me. Steve just laughed in his shorts and polo. It was perfect. We got home around seven that evening, then went to church Sunday morning. Got lots of comments about our appearance-all of us (except for Steve of course) were bright pink. I did put sunscreen on, but lightly, first thing when we got there. It didn't occur to me to reapply until it was too late. Oh well, we live and learn, then pray we don't get skin cancer from a couple bad burns.
Trying to get back in the groove today without going crazy, trying to keep the kick-back, go-with-the-flow vibe from this weekend.
Finished book number three (liked it a lot). Totally annoyed with Jacob though-if you know what I mean...
and listening to Jack Johnson. Another song that once it's in my head, it's there for a very long time on continuous repeat.
